Resumen
This chapter explores, from a historical-structural perspective, the Geopolitics and the International Political Economy of the projection of the US and China in a post-pandemic scenario, focusing on the countries of the Andean Community of Nations. This chapter begins with a brief historical approach of the two political projections and from there on, it will review the core elements of the competition during the Trump’s administration and the pandemic scenario. Transversally, this chapter reflects how the competition and the interests do reshape the relationship between each of the both superpowers and the Andean countries, as well as the responses of these latter, according to the particularities of their own state-society complex. Finally, this chapter concentrates on exploring the probable post-pandemic scenarios, considering both projections, as well as, the responses of the Andean countries; through an approach that recognizes the structural dimension but also the conjunctural elements resulted of the correlation of forces in the region.
