Resumen
Multi-criteria decision-making methods considers characteristic parameters and qualitative criteria to assign importance to each alternative in order to select the best option between all the preselected choices. This paper reports of the application of different preference ranking-based MCDM methods for the base of an induction cookware. Selection of an appropriate material is necessary for improve the efficiency in the system cookware-induction cooker. This efficiency is measured with the energy efficiency, cost saving, high heating rate, and workability. The MCMD methods implemented are COPRAS-G, OCRA, VIKOR and TOPSIS methods. The criteria weighting was performed by compromised weighting method composed of AHP and Entropy methods. Using these methods, a list of all the possible choices from the best to the worst suitable materials is obtained taking into account different material selection criteria. According to the results, Permalloy would be the best material for the base of an induction pot.
