Resumen
William James's works show a strong dependence on the cognitive-behavioural components devised by Ignatius of Loyola. This dependence is strong enough as to allow a description of the Ignatian ascetic itinerary by means of the same exact components (reducible to four essential lines) developed by James, the epigone. The present study elucidates this derivation, with the aid of abundant excerpts pertaining to the phases of the thematic progression.
