Resumen

This article aims to study the processes of instrumentation and instrumentalization information through the use of ICT for the organization of collective work within an SME with only 20 workers as an adaptive response to a global market context. We present a case study carried out in 2018 in a small organization, with headquarters in Paris-France, specialized in mountmaking (soclage). We will focus on the use of new communication and information technologies as a technological infrastructure for the collective organization of work in order to meet a demand that may be local, regional or global. The methods used in this study were specific to the ergonomics of organizations, cognitive ergonomics and the digital humanities. From the clues of an organizational analysis, and with the use of techniques of interviews, observation and data analysis, the activity of 20 workers was studied throughout the productive mountmaking process, emphasizing the organization of collective activity and arbitration processes that use digital tools such as email, Google calendars and WhatsApp conversations. The results of the study show the preponderant role of ICTs as infrastructures for the dynamics of information type artifacts that allow the organization of collective work when it is dispersed in time and space, a recurrent aspect in the provision of a service Worldwide. They also show how the use of these technologies generates virtual cooperation and negotiation spaces that facilitate arbitrations to face the demands of the activity and facilitate the development of a collective of work. By way of conclusion, we show how the cognitive technologies used to study the use of digital tools, methods of natural language processing, semantic analysis and classification of information, are a resource for the creation of adaptable and ergonomic tools appropriate to the organization and its workers. This perspective can facilitate continuous improvement and human development within organizations.
