Resumen
The aim of this manuscript is to present foundations for the development of a non-invasive application that immediately analyzes the general spontaneous babies’ movements “GMs” from a conventional video. In this way, a brief literature review, a software architecture description to be used, as well as a preliminary clinical analysis associating GMs with gestational age, will be presented. We found that the available technology is not open access, user-friendly and accessible in order to facilitate conducting clinical studies. The proposed architecture of the acquisition, processing and classification system is outlined like a feasible solution for end-users. Finally, gestational age is associated with the type of GMS, and the prematurity, with poor repertoire GMs. The fast GMs identification would help to implement early therapeutic interventions that enhance baby’s neurodevelopment.
