Resumen
The family Polymitarcyidae Banks, 1900 has a worldwide distribution but its greatest diversity is found in South America. In Ecuador, three species of the genus Tortopsis Molineri, 2010 have been so far known: T. parishi Banks, 1918, T. spatula Molineri, 2010 and T. limoncocha Molineri, 2010. Tortopsis toro Molineri, Dias, and Zúñiga, 2021 is reported here for the first time from Ecuador, Orellana Province, based on one male collected on the banks of the Napo River, at the river port of Chiruisla, in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The collected specimen shows a slight morphological variation from the original description based on the material from Colombia.
