Resumen

A total of 110 snake specimens from the Metropolitan District of Quito were examined. Eggs and larvae of ectoparasite Cochliomyia macellaria were found parasitizing Dipsas elegans, Clelia equatoriana, Chironius exoletus and Erythrolamprus albiventris. We also recorded mites from the families Ixodorhynchidae in C. equatoriana and Erytraeidae in Atractus dunni. Ixodorhynchidae and Erytraeidae mites were found parasitizing E. mimus at the same time. In contrast, mites of the suborder Oribatida were found in Sibon nebulatus. The presence of endoparasites of the order Onchoproteocephalidea is recorded for the first time in E. albiventris.
