Resumen

The research reviews the incidence and evolution of ICT in university education, with observation in the educational and technological items applied to learning management systems (LMS) in the best universities in the world; as well as a specific analysis in Ecuador. The study progresses recognizing the LMS innovations used in the educational, technological and institutional, based on the innovation methodology TRIZ (Theory of the solution of problems of inventiveness) as a methodology of the area of Engineering; The research proposes a model to incorporate technological innovation in the LMS of the universities, established in three phases: assessment of the LMS, analysis and proposal of innovation, application and validation of the LMS. The model proposes activities and procedures for the integral management of the processes related to face-to-face, online and blended learning that improve the performance of traditional educational methods.
