Resumen
The Observational Data Collection System for the J. Stock Telescope at the Venezuelan National Astronomical Observatory is presented. The system was implemented to provide support for projects headed by astronomers from various institutions that make use of this instrument. It is an information technology tool developed on top of a relational database with graphical interface and dynamical web pages. Its design provides a systematic and efficient way of managing astronomical observations, allowing the recording of the conditions under which every astronomical observation is obtained at the telescope. The system provides various ways of retrieving the information using descriptive statistics, analytic summaries, dynamic graphics and internet queries. The impact of the system is discussed, in quantitative terms, since its inception.
