Resumen

This review synthesizes the expanding role of artificial intelligence (AI) in security operations, examining its integration across diverse domains to enhance safety, efficiency, and adaptability. Based on the analysis of key selected studies, five main areas of application emerged: access control, fraud detection, intelligent surveillance, predictive policing, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for reconnaissance. Across these domains, AI demonstrates notable capabilities, from improving biometric identification and financial anomaly detection to enabling real-time monitoring, crime forecasting, and autonomous decision-making in the field. These findings highlight AI’s transformative impact on security strategies and its growing importance in addressing evolving threats. This review maps the current landscape of AI applications in security and provides a foundation for future research aimed at refining and expanding the use of AI in increasingly complex operational scenarios.
