Resumen
The
study of Aristotelianism in the fifteenth century (concentrated in Tuscany and
Umbria) cannot be separated from the important contribution of translations
into Latin (see primarily the Nicomachean Ethics translated by Bruni). Under
these circumstances Machiavellian reflection on Aristotelian writings matured.
According to the conjectural hypothesis of the article, an Aristotelian metaphor
was taken by Niccolò, directly from the original.
