Performative Dynamics in Place-Naming of Mountains Features

Research output: Book/ReportBookpeer-review

Abstract

The Inkanate expanded territories' reorganized productive forces in the Andes and changed the names of some of the mountains sacred to the Indigenous peoples, as a symbolic mark of the historical conquest. This phenomenon, linked to the South American continent, can be used to compare other mountain case studies in the world to perceive the nature of colonial encounters in the ideological arena.
