AUGMENTED REALITY AS A SUPPORT FOR THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS IN THE SUBJECT OF ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

Augmented reality represents an innovative technological tool that greatly contributes to the teaching-learning process of students at any educational level. In this context, the student can discover the real environment "augmented" by certain virtual elements. The primary focus of the research is focused on the evaluation of a proposal based on augmented reality in order to support the teaching-learning of the business architecture subject in the information systems career taught at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE). In this context, a quasi-experimental study was carried out with two independent groups, taken as control and experimental groups with 30 students each. In the experimental group, the subjects of the subject were taught according to the methodological strategy designed, while in the control group the classes were carried out as usual. During the different phases of the investigative process, two instruments were applied; on the one hand, a knowledge test in both groups in post-test and, on the other hand, a survey applied to the experimental group to evaluate the satisfaction of the students on the proposed methodological strategy.
