Research Interests

Pamela Cevallos is a visual artist, anthropologist, and curator. She is currently a PhD candidate in Society and Culture at the University of Barcelona and Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. Her interdisciplinary work explores the social life of objects, collecting practices, and archival methods. Since 2015, she has collaborated with the community of La Pila (Ecuador), investigating the appropriation of the pre-Hispanic past and the role of replication in questioning originality. She promoted the creation of the Museo Histórico y Artesanal La Pila in 2018. She has exhibited in international biennials and received awards such as the Paris Prize (2023) and the Mariano Aguilera Award (2017).
