Ha trabajado los procesos constituyentes en América Latina, así como temas de empoderamiento ciudadano y participación popular. También el análisis de las políticas públicas, principalmente migratorias, en Ecuador.
Actualmente trabaja la Historia del Derecho en Ecuador, con énfasis en el primer siglo de vida republicana.
