Organization profile

Organization profile

PUCE is distinguished by its broad commitment to research, structured in multiple groups that address areas as diverse as communication, health, biodiversity and engineering. At the Quito campus, for example, there is the Communication Sciences Research Group (GICCOM), which explores everything from technological instrumentation to the analysis of narratives and social ecology, thus making it possible to understand communication as a fundamental axis in social transformation. In addition, the Center for Health Research in Latin America (CISeAL) brings together several groups specialized in the diagnosis, treatment and development of public policies aimed at improving the well-being of the population. At other sites, such as in Santo Domingo, innovative projects are being developed in the Biodiversity and Society group, focused on environmental conservation, climate change mitigation and ecological restoration, which is evidence of the institution's firm commitment to the future of the planet. This research ecosystem not only boosts academic knowledge, but also becomes an engine of practical solutions to contemporary challenges, demonstrating that PUCE looks to the future with creativity, rigor and a touch of intelligent humor when facing global problems.
