Hospital Pedagogy Research Group

Organization profile

Organization profile

The research group will focus its interest on multidisciplinary study in the field of knowledge that contributes to the challenges and constraints of the teaching-learning process, within the framework of inclusive action. Its development should be understood from a post-critical and interdisciplinary perspective, grounded in research as a pillar for its development, strengthening the dynamics and production of knowledge, supported by critical thinking and the production of knowledge as a cross-cutting competency from undergraduate to postgraduate studies. In addition to proposing improvements in the educational, health, and social reality of girls/adolescents in situations of illness, treatment, or deprivation of liberty, the research group bases its actions on Sustainable Development Goal 4 regarding sustainable development (SDGs), which ensures inclusive, equitable, and quality education and promotes lifelong learning opportunities for all. Due to illness, hospitalization, internment, treatment, and/or prolonged medical rest situations, these individuals cannot attend their regular educational institution regularly, resulting in a delay in their learning in early childhood, primary, and secondary education. The study group will strive to create spaces that contribute to the growth of families in these new realities and encourage transitional programs between educational modalities, with the possibility of influencing decision-making in public policies, which better suit the potential and realities of learners in cases of catastrophic or chronic illnesses and mental illnesses.
