Malnutrition in children under five is a critical public health issue that affects children's physical and cognitive development and has significant implications for the well-being of communities. In Ecuador, the National Child Malnutrition Survey (ENDI) provides valuable data for understanding the prevalence and determinants of child malnutrition. This study focuses on an epidemiological analysis of ENDI data collected during the 2022-2023 period and subsequent updates. The main objective is to identify the risk factors and key determinants of malnutrition in this population in order to inform effective policies and intervention strategies.

2.    Objectives

• Identify the socioeconomic, demographic, and environmental factors associated with child malnutrition.
• Describe the geographical distribution of malnutrition to identify areas of high vulnerability.
• Analyze the prevalence of malnutrition in children under five in Ecuador during the period 2022-2023 and subsequent updated data.
