Brain and Mind: Clinical Neuropsychology Research Group aims to analyze the relationship between behavior, cognition, emotion, and brain functioning in the various contexts in which human beings develop. Our purpose is to generate relevant scientific contributions on topics such as executive functions, acquired brain damage, the effectiveness of neuropsychological rehabilitation interventions, the use of advanced techniques in neuropsychological assessment, the identification of risk factors for brain health, the promotion of protective factors for the mind and brain, as well as processes of adaptation and validation of neuropsychological instruments.
The group collaborates with expert researchers from Ecuador, the United States, Cuba, Chile, and the United Kingdom, allowing for an interdisciplinary and multicultural approach. In addition, it actively integrates undergraduate and graduate students from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), providing them with opportunities to develop applied research skills in clinical neuropsychology. Our mission is to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge by promoting evidence-based practice that positively impacts the assessment, intervention, and promotion of mental and brain health.
